Area 61 RI Area Assembly Elects New Officers For 2026 & 2027!

From our Delegate for Panel 74, Tricia D:

I am thrilled to announce the trusted servants who will help guide Area 61, Rhode Island, into Panel 76.

Anne M. will serve as our new Delegate. With a long and steady history of service at both the district and area levels, Anne brings not only deep experience but a profound love for Alcoholics Anonymous. Her dedication is rooted in a family tradition of service — one of her family members even served on the AA Board. I couldn’t be more grateful that she raised her hand; Anne will serve Area 61 and AA as a whole with wisdom and heart.

Serving as Alternate Delegate will be Nat S., whose intellect, steadiness, and strong spiritual grounding will be a tremendous asset.

Paul C. has stepped up as our new Area Chair. A trusted servant with deep commitment, Paul will represent District 7 — my home district — with grace and strength.  His district already knows what a great job he’ll do, as told to me by my own GSR.

Annee S. will serve as Treasurer. A professional bookkeeper who absolutely loves Alcoholics Anonymous, Annee’s heart for service and her skill set are a perfect match.

Finally, John N. will serve as Secretary. His energy, willingness, and spirit are just what we need. He’s also the volunteer chair for the Northeast Regional Forum this December and I just know will drum up lots of support for our visiting guests.

Please join me in welcoming and supporting our new trusted servants!

Last but certainly not least, I want to express my deepest gratitude to Area 61 for the incredible honor of serving as your Delegate. This experience has truly been one of the greatest blessings of my life. While there have been challenges, I believe with all my heart that the work we’ve done together will help save the lives of alcoholics — both now and in the future.

I carry this responsibility personally, too. I have three daughters who may one day need what Alcoholics Anonymous has to offer. Ensuring that this program remains strong and vibrant is, to me, the most important work there is. What could matter more than that?

Meeting Format Update – A Way Out

For the next 12 weeks ‘A Way Out’ group will be reading and discussing the 12 Traditions of AA starting on Tuesday October 9th.

The Twelve Traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous are the guidelines that keep our Fellowship united and free. Just as the Steps help each member recover, the Traditions help our groups remain whole. They remind us that our common welfare must come first, that we are self-supporting through our own contributions, that we seek no outside endorsement, and that we place principles before personalities. The Traditions protect our unity and allow us to carry the message of hope to the alcoholic who still suffers.
